Sunio Greece

The Cape of Sunion or Sunio (in Latin, Sunium, in Greek, Σούνιον) is a small cape or promontory on the waters of the Aegean Sea located 65 km southeast of Athens, in Attica. In ancient times, the promontory was used to spot ships approaching Athens. It is located in the southern part of the strait of Makrónisos, which separates the continent from the small homonymous island of Makrónisos (in ancient times, Helena Island, since it would have stopped on the way to Troy).
